Mehndi Craft

Mehndi Craft is HEXAVO's own mobile app for henna: one place to find a design, practise it, and take it to a real hand — whether you're a bride-to-be trying mehndi for the first time or a working artist building a portfolio.

Mehndi designs live in scattered photos and paper design books. Beginners have no structured way to practise, and artists need stencils that match a real hand, not a screenshot. The audience spans India, Pakistan and the Gulf, so the app had to work in Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu and Arabic — including right-to-left layouts — and keep personal hand photos private.

   Built a hand-and-feet design canvas with 98 hand-drawn motifs — paisleys, mandalas, jaal, vines, borders and festive shapes — and a pattern brush that bends repeating borders along any stroke.

   Designed guided tracing lessons that score every stroke for accuracy and award up to three stars, backed by daily drills across eight core henna strokes.

   Added true-size export: any design prints as a stencil scaled to a real hand or foot, and artists can build a PDF look-book of their work to share with clients.

   Localised the whole app into five languages with right-to-left support for Urdu and Arabic, plus native-script lettering for henna names and initials.

   Kept it private by design — no accounts, servers, analytics, ads or tracking. Designs, progress and try-on photos never leave the device.
